Where: Lumpkin St. & Cedar St, Athens – at the red pavillion
What: Yank California Privet (and other invasive species) out of Lumpkin Woods to make it prettier, safer & cleaner. We’ll bring the fun weed wrenches, but if you’ve got a machete…  Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring gloves. Wear close-toed shoes. Snacks and beverages will be provided!

SEA and GO GREEN are hosting a tour of the steam plant so people can actually see the coal boiler that those organizations are trying to get rid of.  It’s Oct. 28th at 5:15..meet in front of the Ecology Building. For those of us who won’t be able to attend the Open Books Series, Part 1, this will be an excellent alternative. Please take photos and we’ll post them on the egb photo gallery.

Join us for our first meeting of the season! Learn about Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) concepts and applications. We’re planning, yard yanks, river clean-ups, cob-stomps and a new series on LEED open-books.
